Tulip Grand Perfection
Autumn Delivery! We begin shipping in late October, which is the perfect time for planting for most zones.
There could not be a more suitable name for this stunning tulip. Grand Perfection is a gorgeous bloom with hues of soft buttercream swirled with deep strawberry feathers.
Classic tulip shape and makes an excellent cut flower as well. Stands 14-18" tall at time of blooming.
Suitable for zones 3-8. Pre-chilling may be required in warmer climates.

How to Plant
Prepare a little hole about twice the size of the bulb to tuck it into. Loosen and sift the soil. Place your tulip bulb (pointy side up) in the hole and fill with the freshly aerated. In warmer climates plant bulbs deeper than 10 inches, as this ensures strong stems. You can space tulips as close as 6" inches apart for a colorful show. If your soil is extremely dry at the time of planting, it is advisable to water the area and plant the tulips the following day.
Where to Plant
Tulips prefer full sun, but will tolerate some shade. Tulips require well drained soil and do not like extended periods of wet soil.
When to Plant
Plant bulbs from late October to December. If you're running a little late on your autumn planting- don't worry! In cold winter regions tulips can be planted right up until Christmas day because they only need a short season of growth.
Additional Care Instructions
If you live in a warmer region it may be advisable to pre-chill your bulbs. Tulips need to be chilled for a total of about ten weeks in a cold, dry location. Temperatures need to be between 35-48 degrees. You can put them in a refrigerator drawer to easily chill them, but make sure they are not located near any fruit (as fruit gives off a gas that can harm your bulbs).
The absolute best way to pre-chill is to find a well-draining pot, cover them with a light layer of top soil and stick them in a basement or cellar and cover them with a dark cloth to prevent any light from reaching them. During this period check the topsoil for over-drying and if the top inch feels dry provide a light watering.
